ED LAWRENSON's UPPLAND, his latest film  (2018) premiered at prestigious Cinéma du Réel International Film Festival in Paris (showing March and April).  In Ed’s film an architect and filmmaker visit a town in a remote area of Liberia – once a thriving mining community now in a state of decay – the film explores the promise of prosperity, remnants of colonialism and the spiritual and human cost of industrial mining.   The film was funded by the Irish Arts Council.  The film debuts at the Pompidou Centre on Sunday 25 March.  UPPLAND debuts at Polmpidou Centre, Paris
